Seperated by thousands of miles of Ocean native American views and customs in regard to history are remarkably similar to those of native Africans. The same cannot be said for native Europeans. Where native Americans and Africans view history as a sacred not secular occurance, this is not the case with Europeans. Europeans view history as something to be discovered and explored, examined and deciphered, documented and revised. In instances where the results of inquiry are contrary to accepted ideology, the process of revising said results to agree with existing norms is the routine and expected course of action.
The understanding or perception of who and what God is also differs remarkably. There is no cohesive view of God in European society, God is exactly what you perceive him or her to be so long as you are happy. In western societies particularly the United States, God has been adapted from the ancient European version of Christianity. Documents, texts and rituals have been created but very little substance can be found within. Contrary to the accounts of all ancient versions of man's relationship with God, westerners have adopted the European version of God in the flesh. In essence the recreating God in his own image. This in itself is one of the greatest sins which can be committed as detailed in the Old Testament of the Bible. The sin is the sin of Idolatry. Idolatry is when a man worshipts the work of his own hand.
In modern times this Idolatry has been taken to new levels with a devious purpose. All religion admits the inherent weakness and infalibility of man. As a point of opinion I state nowhere in the world is this weakness on display more than in these United States. Day to day stories of men succumbing to the debased values set by a society which professes the deepest regard for God but displays only contempt for his people is evident and readily on display.
In the interest of free market society people are abused and exploited, wars are perpetuated and people are sold false images of themselves in the idolotrous pursuit of heaven on earth.
Take for instance these passages taken from America's Providential History by Mark A. Beliles & Stephen K. McDowell.
Featured prominently in this text is a recurring them of man's God ordained right to dominance, control and conquering of the earth. I begin with a quote from Corinthians 6:2 "Do you not know that the Christians will oneday judge and govern the world?" Page 3.
"Do you not know that we will judge the angels? How much more the matters of this life? Paul then rebukes the Christians for their apathy and irresponsibility that allowed non-Christians to be in control.
A detailing of statistics follows which further enforces the point. It is your God ordained right and responsibility to control the world and its direction. Not God's or the angels which the early Catholic church deamned God's heavenly helpers. |
