To understand where you are going you have to know where you are. And knowing where you are means a recognition of where you've been. Without fail you've been reminded that you come from slaves, a people so mistreated for centuries. This in itself is a form of mind control aimed at taming and controlling the rage and potential that is within you. Nothing is more frightening to those who oppose you than the thought of you standing tall without fear of repercussion and returning to the independence and glory that awaits those who are truely free.
This means accepting the fact that everything you know, love and value is the product of someone else's fantasy. All that you see, all that you have been taught to love and respect is a concoction of a system designed to promote the values, needs and wishes of a select few. This is the system which was in place when the first of us came into contact with those who came to hate and fear us for our perfection. The essence of my comments are supported by historical fact. Shall we take a look and see?
Pulitzer-prize winning author James Truslow Adams noted "To be sure, black men had many excellent qualities, even temper, affection, great loyalty, immitativeness, willingness to follow a leader or master." Qualities all which made us unfit to lead or in the context of his quotation fit to make a good frontiersman. So in essence his comments sought to promote the qualities which best insured a continuance of his dominance over the black man and woman for that matter.
In the infantile stages of development, the invaders of this hemisphere recognized the potential of the African as a danger to the plans of the ruling elite. This was a matter of prevalence which was dealt with immediately but that is getting ahead just a bit. We must understand that the thing that brought the Spanish and Europeans to this part of the world wasn't a need for freedom nor a desire to worship as they saw fit. The first organized band of rouges to set foot in this country came in search of wealth. Natural resources. The very thing which carries them to the farthest reaches of the planet, where they universally employee a special brand of diplomacy which seems to include a ritualistic shedding of blood.
At the core is greed and a lack of self control which has doomed every venture they have undertaken independently. |
